Day 1

Day 1

Let’s talk about day 1. “First time”. I love first time, first time to ride a plane and first time to go to Manila! It was about 4:00 in the dawn on October 4, 2010, Monday when we went to the airport (DAVAO Francisco Bangoy International Airport). With our baggage we checked in, and then went up to the Waiting area before our flight. We are all in formal ware since we are to directly go to Social Security System as soon as we arrive. It was around 6:15 that the 5J 962 Cebu Pacific departed. So it was the first event -the Departure to Manila.
Arrival is around 8:15 a.m. at Manila (NAIA Terminal 3). As we arrived we are fetched by our tour bus, the Maynilad Tour Bus. And were separated to three busses where we are assigned. Welcome to Manila! J

This day we went to Social Security System. I learned a lot. I learned what SSS is really all about, the essence and its benefit to people especially here in the Philippines, the insurances that we get in this Corporation which is the social security protection against contingencies resulting in the loss of income and financial burden. Also they aim to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country through a viable social insurance program.
We had the seminar for almost two hours before the tour to their entire place, discussing about the SSS and its database, the flow of the system and everything. We tour to every department in their building, the museum and the library, and even the studio where they match every data of the members for the uniqueness of identity. To identify whether one or more people are using the same SSS number to assure security. A universal ID where in GSIS, PLDT, SSS and others are all in a one Id, written the member’s name and specimen and thumb mark. SSS ID System: First Civilian ID Application with biometrics. They no longer make the Ids.
Next area that we visit is the First Academy of Computer Arts in Makati. It is a digital art school of 3-Dimensional and 4-Dimensional Models. It was really cool. Multimedia is what they are focused. “You don’t need to be good in drawing to create animations or graphical arts, only when you have a heart and passion to play with the software applications that you can create a great work of art on your own.” That was the thought I caught as the speaker in First Academy spoke. It was very inspiring especially to me who loves art, photography, and multimedia, whatever you call it. Because I’m not really good in drawing but in IT world there is possibility. They’ve showed us a simple presentation of how to create a 3d. Maya is the best 3d application according to them. They have shown us the folios of their students, photography, Digital Komikz, Lay-out Designs and animation movies.
